Observation Point is one of my favorite hikes in Zion National Park. Although the park is full of stunning vistas, various levels of hiking trails, and an abundance of water and vegetation, Observation Point remains my favorite. 2019-08-24 · Update, August 24th 2019 The Observation Point Trail has been closed for the foreseeable future due to a huge rockfall Observation Point is a narrow promontory, elevation 6,508 feet, that overlooks much of Zion Canyon including such famous landmarks as the Great White Throne, Castle Dome, Three Patriarchs and Angels Landing. The hike from the Weeping Rock Trailhead to Observation Point is a classic hike in Zion Canyon and the viewpoint at the end of the trail is one of the most iconic in Zion National Park.

Currently the route via Echo Canyon is closed due to rockfall. When the Echo Canyon route is open it is one of the best hikes in Zion. You may still access Observation Point via the East Mesa Trailhead.
